What I learned

Building a real multi-tenant SaaS from zero with a cofounder reframed how I think about ownership. A marketing site is a product. A design system is a product. A per-tenant provisioning flow is a product. Each one has to ship, has to be measured, and has to be honest about what it actually does for the operator on a shop floor at 6am.

I also got fluent in agentic, component-driven workflows in Storybook — not as a documentation surface, but as the primary place the design system lives. Components get built and validated against real states before they ever land in the app, which makes the design-to-engineering handoff almost vanish.

What I did

  • Cofounded the company alongside an engineering cofounder; drove product strategy, customer discovery, and MVP scoping; validated the product with early manufacturing pilots and shaped the domain model.
  • Designed the brand, design system, and entire UI surface — operator UI, admin app, marketing site — as a single component library.
  • Owned swiptools.com end-to-end on Astro 5, React 19, Tailwind v4, Radix, framer-motion, Slate (rich text), and Pagefind (search). Deployed on Cloudflare Workers.
  • Contributed full-stack to the admin app built with TanStack Start + React 19, TanStack Router/Query/Form/Table, and Drizzle ORM against Neon Postgres.
  • Coordinated with the engineering cofounder on the edge layer: a Hono-based real-time relay (hub), a multi-tenant control plane (launchpad) with per-tenant Neon provisioning, JWT/EdDSA + Better Auth + SSO, and Sentry observability.

A working multi-tenant manufacturing intelligence SaaS — from time observation to shift attainment in one system — with a live marketing site at https://swiptools.com, an operator-grade admin app, and the design system that powers both. Early pilots are live; the company is iterating on production feedback now.
